SSC Recruitment 2025 Notification Translator Eligibility

Applicants must fulfill the age and educational requirements in order to be considered for these roles.

Post Codes “A” through “C” for a junior Hindi translator, junior translation officer, or junior translator:
  • A master’s degree in Hindi from an accredited university with English as a required or elective subject or as the language of communication for degree-level exams. OR
  • A master’s degree in English with Hindi as an elective or required subject, or as the language of examination at the degree level, from an accredited university. OR
  • A master’s degree in any topic other than Hindi or English from an accredited university, with Hindi as the primary language and English as an elective or required subject or as the language of assessment at the degree level. OR
  • A master’s degree in any topic other than Hindi or English from an accredited university, with Hindi serving as the language of assessment at the degree level or as an elective or required course taught in English. OR
  • A Master’s degree from an accredited university in a topic other than Hindi or English, with either of the two serving as a medium of examination and the other as a required or elective subject at the degree level, or Hindi and English as mandatory or elective subjects.
  • AND At least two years of experience translating from Hindi to English and vice versa in a Central or State Government Office, including a Government of India undertaking, or a recognized diploma or certificate program in the subject.
For a Senior Translator in Hindi or Senior Translator with Post Code “D”:
  • A master’s degree in Hindi that includes English as a degree-level subject.
  • A master’s degree in English that includes Hindi as a degree-level subject.
  • A master’s degree in any field that offers Hindi as a medium and English as a degree-level topic.
  • A master’s degree in any field taught in English, with Hindi offered as a degree-level course.
  • A master’s degree in any field that includes English and Hindi as degree-level studies.
  • AND A recognized three-year experience translating from Hindi to English and vice versa in a Central or State Government Office, including a Government of India undertaking, or a diploma or certificate program in the subject.
For CRPF (Post Code “E”) Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator):
  • The educational requirements for junior Hindi translators, junior translation officers, and junior translators are the same.
  • AND A recognized diploma or certificate program in Hindi to English and vice versa, or two years of experience translating between Hindi and English in a Central or State Government office, including a Public Sector Undertaking.
  • Candidates must also fulfill particular medical and physical requirements.

    Age Limit :

    1. Age range for all positions (except from CRPF Sub-Inspector): 18 to 30 years as on August 1, 2025. Candidates must have been born between August 02, 1995, and August 01, 2007.
    2. Age range for CRPF Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator): 18 to 30 years old as of the online application deadline (26.06.2025). Candidates must have been born between June 25, 1995, and June 26, 2007.
    3. A few of protected groups have permissible age relaxations.

    Staff Selection Commission 2025 Salary

    According to the 7th Central Pay Commission, the positions offer competitive pay rates.

    1. Level-7: Senior Hindi Translator (SHT)/Senior Translator (ST) (Rs. 44900-142400).
    2. Level-6 (Rs. 35400-112400): Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator), Junior Hindi Translator (JHT)/Junior Translator (JT), and Junior Translation Officer (JTO).

    Staff Selection Commission Bharti 2025 Selection Process

    Two tests will be used in the SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination, 2025 selection process:

    1. Computer-Based Examination test I: Consisting of multiple-choice questions on General Hindi and General English, this objective-style test is worth 100 points each. For every wrong response, there will be a 0.25 mark deduction. Based on how well they performed in Paper I, candidates will be shortlisted for Paper II.
    2. Paper-II (Descriptive): The applicants’ translation abilities as well as their writing and comprehension of the two languages will be evaluated in this paper. An essay in Hindi and English will be included, along with two translations—one from Hindi to English and one from English to Hindi.
    3. Document Verification: Following the announcement of the final result, candidates who pass both exams will be contacted by the User Departments/Organizations for Document Verification.

    The candidates’ performance in both Paper I and Paper II, as well as their expressed preferences, will determine the final selection and distribution of Ministries and Departments.
