Age Limit :
- The Scientist position has a 32-year-old upper age limit.
- In accordance with government regulations, age relaxation applies to reserved categories:
- SC/ST: five years
- Three years for OBC (NCL)
- PwBD: 10 years (OCB: 13 years, SC/ST: 15 years).
- According to the official announcement, relaxations are also offered to widows, divorced women, council/government personnel, etc.
Qualification :

- SCT-2005 (SC) :
- requires a Ph.D. (Science/Engineering) in Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, Photonics, or a related discipline.
- The OBC-NCL SCT-2006:
- submitted a Ph.D. in integrated photonics, electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, electronics, and communication engineering, or a related subject.
